Insulac is proud to announce that on October 29th, in Lisbon, at the 10th Contest Queijos de Portugal, it won the award for best cheese in the category for “Barrar” with Queijo Valformoso Herbs and Garlic and three honorable mentions in the categories, Cheese de Vaca – Normal Cure, Flamengo Cheese and Spread Cheese with Natural Valformoso Cheese.
A total of 208 cheeses references were submitted to the competition and 57 companies competed. The result of this challenge comes from a rigorous, objective and technical analysis carried out by 21 judges on 208 references of 100% Portuguese cheese. The jury was composed of representatives from the cheese sector, control and certification bodies, educational institutions, restaurants and gastronomy, distribution and the media.
